Primus drummer Tim Alexander is recovering after undergoing open-heart surgery.

The 49-year-old suffered a heart attack late last week, but a message posted on the band's Facebook page Monday says the blockage was removed from his heart with no complications.  The band adds that "all signs point to a glorious and speedy recovery."

So far there's no word as to whether Alexander's recovery will affect Primus' fall tour plans, which include stops at Riot Fest in both Chicago and Denver in September.
